Calculate exactly when reservations open for a specific restaurant on a desired date. Use this tool when the user wants to know when to book, when reservations drop, or when to set a reminder for a specific dining date.
Returns one of two outcomes:
- If reservations are already open: tells the user they can book now and provides the booking link.
- If reservations are not yet open: returns the exact date and time (in Eastern Time) when reservations will be released, plus the booking link.
The restaurant_name must match a restaurant tracked by this site. If unsure of the exact name, use find_restaurants first to look it up.
Examples of when to use this tool:
- "When do reservations open for Carbone on March 15?" → { restaurant_name: "Carbone", desired_date: "2026-03-15" }
- "I want to eat at Don Angie on my birthday April 20th" → { restaurant_name: "Don Angie", desired_date: "2026-04-20" }
